Indonesia Best Selling Car up to September 2023 is the Daihatsu Sigra, up 5 spots from the previous year (+37.1%). The Toyota Kiang rises 21.8% from the previous year.

The best selling car up to September 2023 becomes the Daihatsu Sigra -up 5 spots- with 46,875 sales (+37.4%),  in front of the Honda Brio with 46,643 (+9.9%) and the Toyota Avanza -down 2 spots- with 45,237 sales (+2.3%)

The Toyota Kijang ranks in 4th with 43,384 sales (+21.8%), followed by the Daihatsu Gran Max PU with 36,607 sales (+9.3%), the Toyota Cayla with 34,312 registrations (+9.4%) and the Suzuki Carry Pick Up -down 4 spots- with 32,121 units sold (-18.8%).

The Mitsubishi Xpander falls 3 spots into 8th place with 30,615 sales (-13.5%) ahead of the Toyota Rush with 28,178 units sold (-11.9%) and the Honda HR-V, -up 2 spots- in 10th with 20,689 new registrations (+10.0%).

Indonesia Best Selling Car in 2022 is the Honda Brio, finally overtaking the Toyota Avanza. The Toyota Veloz holds the best performance in the Top 10 (+726.8%).

The Honda Brio moves up 5 spots into 1st position with 55,129 sales (+35.0%), overtaking previous year’s leader Toyota Avanza with 53,051 sales (+0.6%)

In third place ranks the Suzuki Carry Pickup with 49,080 sales (+4.7%), followed by the Daihatsu Sigra -up 4 spots- with 44,692 registrations (-6.1%) and the Mitsubishi Xpander -down 1 spot-, with 44,094 (-2.7%).

In 6th place and up 1 spot the Daihatsu Gran Max PU with 43,044 (+20.2%) ahead of the Toyota Rush with 41,470 (-14.0%) and the Toyota Kijang with 40,934 (-5.7%).

In 9th place the Toyota Calya with 39,713 (+20.1%) ahead of the new star, Toyota Veloz -up 23 spots- with 31,461 sales (+726.8%).

Remarkable the performances reported by the Honda BR-V, in 11th up 25 spots, and the Daihatsu Xenia, in 12th from the 20th.

In 2021 the Toyota Avanza regains leadership, reaching 7.1% of market share with 62,741 units sold.

In second place we have the Mitsubishi Fuso -up 5 spots- with 6.2% share and 54,851 sales, followed by the Mitsubishi Xpander -up 3 spots-, which is now at 6.2% market share with 54,644 units sold.

The Toyota Rush remained in 4th position with 5.9% share and 52,553 units sold, ahead of the Suzuki Carry Pick Up -down 3 spots- with 52,220 units sold (5.9% share) and the Toyota Kijang -down 1 spot- with 49,745 units (5.6% share).

In 7th position we find the previous leader the Honda Brio -down 6 spots- with 46,235 units (5.2% share) followed by the Daihatsu Gran Max PU with 39,254 units (4.4% share).

Closing the leaderboard we have the Daihatsu Sigra -up 1 spot- with 37,093 units sold (4.2% share) and the Toyota Calya -down 1 spot- with 36,062 units sold (4.1% share).

In 2020 the new market leader is the Honda Brio -up 2 spots-, reaching 7.8% of market share with 40.879 units.

In second place we have the Suzuki Carry Pick up -up 4 spots- with 7.3% share and 38.072 sales, followed by the Toyota Avanza, which was first for the entire decade, despite having lost 11 points of share since 2013. Indeed, it is now at 6.9% market share with 35.754 units sold.

The Toyota Rush reached 4th position with 5.6% share and 29.361 units sold, ahead of the Toyota Kijang -up 2 spots- with 27.614 units sold (5.3% share) and the Mitsubishi Xpander -down 2 spots- with 26.362 units (5.1% share).

In 7th position we find the Mitsubishi Fuso -up 1 spot- with 24.000 units (4.6% share) followed by the Daihatsu Grand Max PU -up 3 spots- with 23.742 units (4.6% share).

Closing the leaderboard we have the star of the year, the Toyota Calya, rising to 9th place with 23.442 units sold (4.5% share) and the Daihatsu Sigra -down 1 spot- with 23.295 units sold (4.5% share).

In 2019, the market leader was still the Toyota Avanza, which dominated for the entire decade, despite having lost 10 points of share since 2013. Indeed, it ended with 9.2%.

In second place, the Toyota Agya, registering a stunning performance (+142.2%), reaching 8% of market share, ahead of the fast-growing Honda Brio and the Mitsubishi Xpander, ending respectively at 7.1% and 6.3%.

The Toyota Rush held the fifth position – with 6.2% – ahead of the Suzuki Carry Pick up with 5.8%, the Toyota Kijang with 5.8% and the Daihatsu Sigra with 5.3%.

Closing the top 10, we find the Mitsubishi L300 with 3.7% and the Daihatsu Grand Max PU with 3.6%.

In the 2018 the market improved from the last year. Indeed, registrations closed the year at 1.139.901, growing 7.1%. This is the third consecutive year of gain, with an annual score very close to the 2013 record. Moreover, the market has been characterized by a positive performance throughout all the quarters.

According to data released by the GAIKINDO, the Indonesian Associations of Car Manufacturers, the ranking of best-selling cars in the 2018 has been revolutionized by the launch of the totally new model, the Mitsubishi Expander.

However, the leadership at the end of the year was again in the hands of the Toyota Avanza with 82.170, which has lost -29.4%.

In second place the new Mitsubishi Xpander, with 75.075 sales (+474.4%) and in third the Toyota Calya with 63.970 units (-12.7%).

In fourth place Toyota Innova with 59.690 (-3.4%) followed by the Toyota Rush up 14 spots with 53.145 (+165.2%) the Mitsubishi Fuso Center with 51.470 (+25.4%) and the Daihatsu Sigra 50.907 sales (+13.1%).

In eight place the Honda Brio Satya with 46.900 units (+8.1%) ahead of the Daihatsu Grand Max PU with 42.534 (+2%) and in 10th place the Suzuki Super Carry P/U with 39.043 sales (+11%).

Indonesian vehicles market hit the all time record in the 2013, before starting a negative period, declining at few more than 1 million vehicles in the 2015, Then a new positive pathway was taken ending the 2016 at 1.074.000 units (including HCVs and Bus) and keeping a moderate recovery in the 2017 as well. Indeed, according to data released by the GAIKINDO, the Indonesian Associations of Car Manufacturers in the 2017 total vehicles sales have been 1.138.000 (+6.0%).

As far as the best selling cars ranking, as in the previous year the leadership was solid in the hands of the Toyota Avanza, which was sold in 116.311 units (-5.2%).

In second place and up one spot the Toyota Calya with 73.236 units (+54.9%). followed by the Toyota Innova with 61.775 units (+7.4%) to complete a fully Toyota podium.

In fourth place, the Daihatsu Sigra, up 8 spots, with 44.993 sales (+40.9%) followed by Honda Brio Satya with 43.378 (+18.9%), the Daihatsu Grand Max PU with 38.895 units (+5.0%) and the Honda HR-V with 39.081 (-11.8%).

In eight place the Honda Mobilio with 35.430 sales (-10.3%) ahead of Suzuki Ertiga, up 2 spots with 35.338 (+10.0%) and in 10th place  the Suzuki Carry pick up with 35.163 (+23.8%).

Indonesia best selling cars 2016 with the dominator, the Toyota Avanza, over doubling the second, albeit losing volumes. New models are growing starting from the Toyota Calya, Honda HR-V and Honda BR-V.

In the 2016 the Indonesia vehicles domestic market scored a moderate recovery over the previous year, confirming the leadership in the ASEAN region.

The list of best selling cars presents many new models thanks to the success of new comers arrived during the year.

According to data released by the GAIKINDO, the Indonesian Associations of Car Manufacturers, the top four positions have been taken by the market leader, Toyota.

Unchanged from the full year 2015 the first place, with the Toyota Avanza again on top despite losing 8.6%, with 121.654 registrations, enough to keep behind the second, the Toyota Innova, up 4 spots, with 57.493 units (+26.6%) and the third, the new Toyota Calya with 48.287.

In fourth place, the Toyota Agya with 45.009 sales (-20.6%) followed by the Daihatsu Xenia with 44.720 units (+35.3%), the Honda HR-V with 44.331 (+21.7%) and the Honda Mobilio with 39.487 sales (-19.3%).

Behind, the Daihatsu Ayla with 39.087 (+7.2%) followed by the new Hond BR-V with 38.666 units and in 10th place by the Daihatsu Grand Max PU with 37.996 units (-34.6%).
