World Best Selling Pick Up ranking in the 2018 led again by large American style models, while the best compact pickup is the “king of the desert”, the Toyota Hilux. Impressive performances were registered by the Toyota Tacoma and the Chevrolet Colorado, joining into the Top 10.
Global Sales
The “Pick-up” segment is considered within the light commercial vehicles, while for its nature is a quite versatile device and in several regions, from America to South Asia, it is used with to transport people and tools, not for working.
However, it is classified within LCVs representing near the half of the segment, with sales in the 2018 at 6.19 million units, up 3.2% from the correspondent period last year.

Global Pick-up sales by Brand
The global leader within the Pick-up segment is Ford with 1.35 million units sold in the 2018 (+0.8%), ahead of the Toyota with 998.120 (+10.3%) and Chevrolet with 899.809 (-0.5%).
In fourth place Ram with 647.582 sales (+3.5%), followed by Isuzu growing 15.3% with 335.674 units and GMC with 315.659 (-3.6%).

Global Pick-up sales by Manufacturer
Ford Group is the global leader in the Pick-up’s segment with 1.35 million sales in 2018 (+0.8%), ahead of General Motors with 1.24 million (-1.9%) and the fast-growing Toyota Group 1.04 million (+9.9%).
In fourth place F.C.A. with 796.174 units sold (+3.5%), followed by Renault Nissan Alliance 531.840 (+7.6%) and Isuzu Motors gaining volume – up 15.3% – with 335.674.

Best Selling Models
The best-selling model ranking was lead again by the Ford F-Series, which hit the milestone of 1 million sales in the 2017 and has now improved with global sales at 1.08 units (+0.5%). US and Canada represent 98% of total sales.
In second place the archrival, the Chevrolet Silverado, losing 1.4% and very far from the leadership with 651.131 sales.
In third place the Ram Pick up with 623.444 (+3.6%).
In fourth place the king of the desert, the Toyota Hilux, with 548.313 sales (+8.8%). Differently from the previous three models, the Hilux sales are distributed over 140 different markets, dominating entire areas in Africa, South America and Middle East.
In fifth place the Isuzu D-Max with 301.629 (+15.9%) followed by the GMC Sierra, with 274.198 sales (-4.8%), the Toyota Tacoma with 270.276 (+23.7%), the Ford Ranger with 267.153 units (+1.9%), the Chevrolet Colorado with 169.220 (+16.1%) and in 10th place the Toyota Tundra with 131.760 (+3.6%).
