The Best Selling Light Vehicle Ranking up to October 2023 is dominated by the Fiat Cronos, still standing on the throne with 42,820 new sales (+34.5%) and 11.6% of market share.

In second place the Peugeot 208, with 33,280 sales and 9.0% market share, up 65.2% from correspondent period last year

Third position is protected by the Toyota Hilux with 25,732 units sold (+30.7%).

The Volkswagen Amarok ranks in 4th with 24,931 units  sold (+48.3%), followed by the Toyota Etios with 21,483 registrations (+49.2%) and the Ford Ranger with 20,963 (+120.5%).

The Renault Kangoo maintains 7th with 15,194 sales (+58.6%), ahead of the Renault Sandero with 14,699 (+17.4%), followed by the Nissan Frontier -up 6 spots- with 10,965 sales (+95.0%).

The Chevrolet Tracker rises 17 spots into 10th, reporting 10,844 sales (+230.8%).

In second place the Peugeot 208, with 25,649 sales and 6.7% market share, up 62.2% from correspondent period last year

The third position is taken by the Toyota Hillux -down 1 spot- with 24,620 units sold (-9.0%).

Below the podium, the Volkswagen Amarok -down 1 spot- with 21,249 units  sold (+13.9%), followed by the Toyota Etios -up 2 spots– with 18,141 units (+29.0%) and the Renault Sandero with 16,075 (+96.7%).

Then in 7th place there is the Chevrolet Cruze, up 4 spots with 15,221 sales (+79.5%), ahead of the Toyota Yaris with 14,316 (+21.5%), followed by the Renault Kangoo with 14,166 (+67.1%) up 17 places.

In tenth place ranks the Ford Ranger – down 4 spots- with 13,189 sales (-11.5%).

Argentina Best Selling Cars ranking in 2021 reports the Fiat Cronos still on top of the leaderboard, while the Chevrolet Onix plummets at the edge of the leaderboard. The Toyota Corolla performs impressively, rising 16 spots and entering the leaderboard.

The Fiat Cronos remains on the Argentinian market throne after jumping 2 spots, selling 37,435 units in 2021 with a huge 10.5% market share, followed by the previous leader, the Toyota Hilux, which has 27,073 sales and 7.6% market share.

The third position was taken by the Volkswagen Amarok, rising 2 spots with 18,655 units sold (5.2% share), then we have the Peugeot 208 -up 3 spots- selling 15,809 units (4.4% share), followed by the Volkswagen Gol –down 1 spot– with 15,222 units (4.3% share) and the Ford Ranger with 14,905 (4.2% share) units sold.

Then in 7th place we have the Toyota Etios, up 2 spots with 14,058 sales (4% share), ahead of the Toyota Yaris -up 7 spots- selling 11,780 units (3.3% share), followed by the Toyota Corolla rising 16 spots with 9,128 units sold  (2.6% share).

Finally, at the edge of the Top 10 ranking we find the Chevrolet Onix -down 8 positions- with 8,707 sales (2.4% share).

Argentina Best Selling Cars ranking in 2020 showed the Toyota Hilux regaining the market crown, 2.5k units ahead of the former leader, the Chevrolet Onix. The star of the year, Volkswagen T-Cross, landed in 10th place.

The Toyota Hilux reconquered the Argentinian market throne again, selling 18.327 units with 6% of the market share, followed by the Chevrolet Onix, which was on top this year until August and has slipped to 2nd place in September, and now has 15.851 sales and 5.2% of market share.

The third position was taken by the Fiat Cronos, entering the market podium by jumping 8 spots, with 15.834 units sold (5.2% share), then we have the Volkswagen Gol -up 1 spot- selling 13.469 units (4.4% share), followed by the Volkswagen Amarok and the Ford Ranger – up 4 positions – with respectively 12.101 (4% share) and 10.471 (3.4% share) units sold.

Then in 7th place we have the Peugeot 208 with 9.644 sales (3.2% share), ahead of the Ford Ka -down 6 spots- selling 9.521 units (3.2% share), followed by the Toyota Etios -down 5 spots- with 9.493 units sold  (3.1% share).

Finally, at the edge of the Top 10 ranking we find the star of the year, the Volkswagen T-Cross -up 30 positions- with 9.221 sales (3% share).

Argentina Best Selling Cars ranking in 2019 was led by the Toyota Hilux with a safe gap over all other competitors, closing at a new record share of 5.7%. Behind, the Ford Ka managed to stay ahead of Chevrolet Onix, while the Toyota Etios lost 2 positions.

While the Argentine new vehicles market is collapsing, since the start of the 2018 the leadership in the best selling model has been taken by the Toyota Hilux, which in the 2019 hit a new record share of 5.7%, over one point of share better than last year.

In second place, the Ford Ka which in 2018 joined the podium with a record share of 4.0%, almost the double than in the 2010, while in third place, the Chevrolet Onix, the best selling model in the entire Latin America, with 3.8% of share, down 0.1 point from the previous year,

In fourth place the Toyota Etios with 3.6% has lost 2 positions from the previous year while standing ahead of the 2017 leader, the Volkswagen Gol, actually 5th with 3.1% market share, the lowest in the decade, when the record was 9.7% in the 2012, in times when this model was the market dominator.

Argentina Best Selling Cars ranking in 2018 ended with the Toyota Hilux gaining the leadership after an harsh battle with the Toyota Etios. Outstanding performance was scored by the Volkswagen Polo at 11th position.

In the 2018 the market has been disappointing, as sales dropped by 11.5% closing the year at 789.820. Two distinctive events have marked this negative year: the boom in sales registered in May, with an all-time-record, and the negative trend of following months in a precarious economic environment. Thus, after the great performance of the 2017, the decline will most likely continue during the next year.

Argentinian Best Selling Cars in 2018 has crowded battle for leadership with four models fighting on top of the list.

Actually the leader is the Toyota Hilux with 33.439 (-1.4%) having taken back the leadership since May, overtaking the Toyota Etios  actually second with 32.008 sales (-1.6%) and the Ford Ka with 30.370 sales (+8.6%).

In fourth place the Chevrolet Onix with 30.286 units (-14.4%) ahead of the Chevrolet Prisma with 27.967 units (-0.6%).

In sixth place the last year leader, the Volkswagen Gol with 23.551 (-47.3%) followed by the Renault Kwid with 22.527 (-14%), the Peugeot 208 with 22484 (-13.8%), the Renault Sandero with 22.079 sales (-41.1%) and in 10th place by the Fiat Argo with 21.378 sales.

Argentina Best Selling Cars 2017 ranking revolutionized with five new models within the Top 10 list. A new leader on top of the market, the recently renovated Volkswagen Gol ahead of the last generation of Renault Sandero.

Argentina vehicles market in the last decades surfed on waves with sudden falls followed by sharp recovery. Actually the trend is moving up while it is too early to affirm the market is changed and no others deep crisis will arrive.

The current record was established in the 2013 with 923.000 sales, before to fall down at 620.000 in the 2015 and start a recovery actually projecting the 2017 at a new record. 2018 outlook is positive and is above the 1 million units milestone.

This trend is mirrored in the best-selling models list, with many high performances compared with the 2016 ranking.

On top of the 2017 market there was the Volkswagen Gol, up 1 spots, with 44.485 units (+66.7%) ahead of the new Renault Sandero, jumped up 12 places, with 37.535 sales (+118%) followed by the Chevrolet Onix, up 12 spots, with 35.539 (+97.4%)

In fourth place  the 2016 leader, the Toyota Hilux with 34.036 sales (+6.5%) followed by the Toyota Etios with 32.573 units (+36.3%), the Chevrolet Prisma, up 13 spots, with 28.267 units (+105%) and the Ford Ka, up 14 spots with 28.145 units (+126%).

In eight place the old Fiat Palio, down 6 spots with 27.200 units (+0.6%)  ahead of  the Peugeot 208 with 26.112 sales (+37.7%) and in 10th place the Volkswagen Amarok with 22.433 units (+23.4%).

The list of the best-selling cars reports great news on top, with a new leader and many others news.

Up two spots from the previous year, the last generation of the Toyota Hilux jumped in best position with 31.964 sales (+16.2) and a wide gap over the second, the Fiat Palio up 3 spots with 27.394 units (+11.0%) and the third, the former leader, the Volkswagen Gol with 26.897 (-12.5%).

In fourth place  the Renault Clio with 25.377 (+17.0%) followed by the Toyota Etios with 23.898 (+14.6%), the Chevrolet Classic with 22.249 units (-22.6%) and the Ford Focus with 21.600 sales (+1.6).

Eight was the Ford Fiesta with 19.429 units (-22.7%) ahead of the Ford Ecosport with 19.174 (-20.0%) and in 10th place the Peugeot 208, up 5 spots, with 18.959 (+15.3%).

Argentina Best Selling Cars in 2015 led again by the Volkswagen Gol, the best since 1988. The subcompact vehicles, produced in Brazil was followed by the Chevrolet Classic and the Toyota Hilux.

According to data released by ACARA and ADEFA, the Argentinian Associations of car manufacturers and dealers, during the 2015 the best-selling model in Argentina was again the Volkswagen Gol.

This is a subcompact car that has been manufactured by Volkswagen do Brasil since 1980 as Volkswagen’s entry-level car in the Latin American market. The Gol was the best-selling car in Brazil for 27 consecutive years, from 1987 to 2014, and is he most popular car in Argentina since 1988; approximately five million Gols have been manufactured in South America since 1980. In March 2013 it was announced that cumulative production of the Gol and its derivatives (Voyage, Saveiro, Parati) had reached 10 million units

Sales un the 2015 have been 30.722 (-10.0%) with still a good margin over the second, the last generation Chevrolet Classic (in Europe distributed as Opel Corsa) with 28.741 units (+13.3%) and the Toyota Hilux, the best pick up,  with 27.515 (-0.4%).

Behind, the Ford Fiesta with 25.131 sales (-0.1%), the Fiat Palio with 24.690 (+7.2%), the Ford Ecosport with 23.970 (-5.3%), the Renault Clio with 21.682 (-20.4%), the Ford Focus with 21.263 (+6.3%), the Toyota Etios with 20.858 (+3.6%) and the Volkswagen Amarok with 19.155 (+16.0%).

The recently introduced Volkswagen Up! landed in 18th place with 12.705 sales.
