While the automotive industry is changing rapidly towards electrification and new EV models are ramping up across the global leaderboard, it is hard to remove the traditional models from the very top of our Top 100 Ranking List.

Indeed, looking at the ranking for 2022, the best-selling car in the World is the same as in most recent years, the Toyota Corolla with 1.12 million units sold (-2.8%) and a solid advantage over all the followers.

Thanks to the huge success of its hybrid version, the second place is occupied by the Toyota RAV4, with 868,398 sales (-13.7%), the best selling SUV in the World.

The third place is in the hands of the icon of American Style Big pick up, the Ford F-Series, still the best seller in the entire North America, with current year sales at 786,337 declining significantly (-8.8%), but still enough to stay in the podium.

In 4th place ranks Tesla Model Y with 759,579 cumulative sales in 2022, that was able to jump 15 spot in the rankings from the previous year (+88.7%).

In 6th place ranks the Toyota Camry with 667,968 sales (-2.6%) followed by the Chevrolet Silverado with 591,594 sales (+1.8%) and the Honda CR-V with 591,293 new registrations (-18.8%).

The Toyota Hilux ranks in 8th with 566,838 sales (+3.9%), followed by the Hyundai Tucson with 549,918 (+0.4%) and the Ram Pick-up with 545,420 new registrations (-15.4%).

The most remarkable performances for the other models within the Top 100 are mostly related to electric vehicles. The BYD Song ranks in 14 from 85th place and the BYD Qin Plus ranks 24th from the 120th.
