New Zealand economy expanded at a fair pace in the 2017, according to recently released figures, thanks to strong showings in the services and manufacturing sectors. residential building growth was robust, and the unemployment rate reached a multi-year low. Recent indicators for Q4 paint a mixed picture; consumer sentiment dropped in November but remained robust, while business confidence plunged to the lowest level since 2009, likely on the back of a softer housing market, credit difficulties and policy uncertainty.
New Zealand vehicles market in recent years have scored records in series. According to data released by the M.I.A., the Motor Industry Association of New Zealand, total vehicles sales volume grew up from 100.000 in the 2012 to 166.000 in the 2017, with steam to further perform in the 2018.
Brand-wise, in the 2017 Toyota consolidated the leadership with 30.489 sales (+13.8%) ahead of Ford with 17.296 sales (+3.1%), Holden with 14.780 (+2.9%), Mazda with 11.605 (+3.3%), Mitsubishi with 10.941 units (+18.2%), Nissan with 8.218 (-4.9%), Hyundai with 7.843 (-6.5%) and Volkswagen with 7.773 (+52.5%).
